Celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve with us

The holidays are an excuse to indulge so if you’re looking for a unique Christmas feast or New Year’s indulgence, head down to Shinzo. This Christmas, our head chef Patrick Tan has prepared a brand new menu for lunch and dinner from 20th to 31st December 2021.

Here’s what to expect.

Start the meal with a Persimmon Salad, served in the fruit’s shell with flounder, kelp and sliced persimmon. Mellow and fruity, it is a stark contrast to the other appetiser- Torched Fresh Prawn with Tartar Sauce.

Before you dive into the heavier flavours, the chef teases you with a round of Sashimi, sinking his polished knife into the soft flesh of the catch of the day, each with its distinct personality. For instance, the Striped Jack Carpaccio which is brushed with truffle oil and topped with caviar.

As your appetite and curiosity grow, our chef presents to you, the exquisite Grilled Lobster with White Sauce and Uni. It is an ingenious pairing of a decadent white sauce with the briny nuances of the lobster, which is intensified by the slabs of uni atop.

The grilled lobster is part of our Dinner Menu. Meanwhile, Grilled Oyster with White Sauce is served for lunch.

The grilled dish is accompanied by its steamed counterpart- an indulgent bowl of Foie Gras Chawanmushi. The lightness of the steamed egg pairs well with the decadence of the foie gras.

Otoro nigiri sushi from Shinzo Japanese Cuisine

Next, comes an assortment of Nigiri that is dexterously crafted, including but not limited to o-toro, yagara, uni and anago (fattiest part of the tuna, cornetfish, sea urchin and saltwater eel respectively). The muscle memory ingrained through years of experience has rendered the perfect nigiri, a meaty slice of fish atop rice that is gently packed.

Lastly, conclude the meal on a sweet note with a slice of Japanese Musk Melon and housemade mochi.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year from all of us at Shinzo!
